This man’s best friend

Nesta

Napowrimo April 17th, 2022
Today we were asked to think about dogs we have known, seen, or heard about, and then use them as a springboard into wherever they take you.

I once met Parker,
A Boxer and a barker.
Unlike our mongrel Tip,
Who disappeared on a hunting trip.

I used to feed Sherlock,
A distinguished Terrier not to be forgot.
Daft George couldn’t walk but he would trot,
That silly Dalmatian of plentiful spots.

Shelley was my running mate,
She would wander off and make me late.
Her son Nesta was my best ever friend,
I cried like a child at his end
