NaPoWriMo 2023, Day 2
Pick 5-10 words from a list, next, write out a question for each word selected then for each question, write a one-line answer. Now, see if you can make a poem of just the answers.
The following are my chosen words, questions and answers.
What is a clove? – an aromatic ancient club
What’s another name for a cyclops? – a myopic mardy bum
What does an oyster taste like? – a saline slug
What is an acorn? – 900 years of life in a nutshell
What is cheese? – the greatest of all lactation’s creations
What is the measure of longing? – the distance between here and the horizon
What is a cowbird? – a cuckoo by any other name
What does quahog smell of? – the skink (soup) that tastes like it sounds
And here us my poem.
I have italicised words that I borrowed to connect the answers.
A cuckoo by any other name,
The myopic mardy bum, spent
900 years of life in a nutshell.
He, the greatest of all lactation’s creations, roamed with
His aromatic ancient club,
The distance between here and the horizon, searching for
The skink that tastes like it sounds;
The saline slug.
