NaPoWriMo 2023, Day 17
Today’s prompt, write a poem that contains the name of a specific variety of edible plant and in the poem, try to make a specific comparison between some aspect of the plant’s lifespan and your own. Also, include at least one repeating phrase.

I would rather, savour the delights of a sensuous, lingering French kiss,
With a decomposing slug, a lifelong thought of bliss,
Than to even once contemplate you passing my lips.
I would rather, eat my own eyes in a sauce of Naga chilli vinegar wine,
With a side of fetid bluebottle flies baked in brine,
Than consider your cadaverous skin slipping inside mine.
I would rather, serve my children live to starving Hyenas,
Peel the skin from my mother with rusty, blunt tweezers,
Than give conscious thought to ever having you for dinner.
I would rather, steal the breath from new-born babies,
Then inject them and myself with rabies,
Than have to eat you, to escape my soul seeing Hades.
You are the nightmare of which nightmares dream,
The eidolic culinary bile that makes me want to scream.
There’s not buttering up this dish: I hate you Butter Bean!
